Yumei demonstrates an independent drive that results in thorough research and thoughtful design solutions. She brings good analysis of user needs to design problems presented to her. Her design solutions are visually refined and appropriate for the context of use. I recommend Yumei as a valuable contributor to your organization.

I've found Yumei to be a highly motivated and diligent student with a real passion for human-computer interaction design. I'm looking forward to her doing great things in her career!
โ€
Yumei was my student in the undergraduate ICAM (Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts Major) at UCSD. She has since gone on to graduate study in HCI at Carnegie-Mellon, where she's been able to advance her studies in human computer interaction.

I worked most closely with Yumei in 2015-16 as her professor in the senior projects sequence, during which Yumei initiated, developed and performed a music visualization project, "Stars Fall in Music."

For the project, Yumei developed software that generated visual accompaniment to her live performance on the Pipa (Chinese lute). Yumei was diligent in developing the skills she needed to create the project, and she was thorough and meticulous in her implementation.
